Local Estate Agent makes generous sponsorship donation

  Local estate agent Hose Rhodes Dickson are to sponsor the Freshwater skatepark and pump track project with a generous donation – and that may be just the start. Hose Rhodes Dickson, who will be opening a branch in the village – their eighth on the Island – in late August, have confirmed they will be making a generous donation to the Freshwater skatepark and pump track. This goes a long way to helping Freshwater Parish Council match the funding they have dedicated to the project. The first year should see the pump track taking shape on Stroud playing fields, followed by a new skatepark to replace current facilities on land near Moa Place. A regular sponsorship from Hose Rhodes Dickson could follow the development phase as a contribution towards such costs as maintenance and staffing. Freshwater Parish Council recently approved a plan to build a new Skatepark and a Pump Track at Stroud.  Freshwater skatepark is coming to the end of its life with repairs and upkeep becoming increasingly costly. The current skatepark has served its purpose and has always been popular, but it’s design and location doesn’t fit with current thinking.  The proposal is to build something that has a long life, is sympathetic in design to its surroundings, an asset to the community and something for all riders and ages to enjoy. The design of the park must be challenging for the most proficient riders but also have an area for beginners and small children. The design of the park will accommodate all riders (Skateboard, Scooter and Bikes etc), have a long life and be attractive and welcoming to all.
